The Star Party for 6/20/26 is ON! Clear skies are expected. A 38% illuminated waxing crescent moon will be visible in the western sky until around 11:00 pm or so and will make an excellent target for beginners learning to use their telescopes. Venus, Jupiter and Mercury will line up after sunset. Sunset is at 8:30 pm. Twilight ends at 10:39 pm. Cool temperatures are expected, starting around 72°F at sunset and falling into the lower 60s as we approach midnight. Long pants

The Star Party for 6/13/26 is ON! We are likely to have some high clouds tonight, but we'll do our best to see through or around them. We can start with Venus and Jupiter in the west, and maybe Mercury! Sunset is at 8:28pm. Twilight ends at 10:36. The Starway to Heaven star party for Saturday, June 6th, 2026 is canceled due to predicted cloud cover and potential rain. We will try again next Saturday, June13th.

The forecast for this weekend looks definitively bleak from a stargazer's perspective. With heavy cloud cover expected both Saturday and Sunday evenings, we have decided to cancel our Starway to Heaven star party for this weekend. We will hope for clear skies on June 6th.

Though tonight's forecast does not look ideal, we have decided to hold our Starway to Heaven star party this evening (May 16th) as there is a chance of some clear patches, particularly earlier in the evening. The Star Party for 3/14/26 is ON! It's going to be COLD, with temps starting around the 40° F (~4.5° C) mark and expected to drop to around 33° F (< 1° C) by midnight. The wind will make it feel a bit colder still. So, bundle up - bring that heavy jacket, a hat, and gloves. An insulated container with something warm to drink wouldn't be a bad idea, either. Forecasts are showing that we may start off a little cloudy at sunset but that it will progressively clear as the evening goes on, with the best conditions likely starting after 6:00 PM. It's going to be COLD, with temps starting around into the 43° F (~6° C) and dropping to around 35° F (< 2° C) by midnight, so be sure to dress appropriately and bring that heavy jacket.
