July 11th Star Party is ON!

The Star Party for 7/121/26 is ON! We expect today's mostly cloudy skies to gradually give way to clearer skies this evening. The waning crescent moon sets ahead of the sun and will not be visible this evening. Venus will be visible in the west, setting at 10:40 pm. No other planets will be visible until well after midnight. Sunset is at 8:30 pm. Twilight ends at 10:31 pm.
***Important Travel Advisory*** Anyone planning to travel to tonight's star party via the Saw Mill River Parkway should consider taking an alternate route due to festival traffic in Pleasantville.
Cool temperatures are expected, starting around 72°F at sunset and falling into the lower 60s as we approach midnight. Long pants and a sweatshirt or light jacket are recommended.
Insect repellant is recommended, but please apply well away from telescopes.
