Hello WAA Members! We are pleased to announce that the all-new WAA website is now live! Visit https://www.westchesterastronomers.org to check it out!
Notable features of the new site include:
A fresh, modern aesthetic featuring enhanced graphics, including astrophotography from many WAA members.
Enhanced checkout functionality for membership purchases:
A new improved checkout form with options to purchase a membership for someone else
Renew your membership with longer terms (3 or 5 years)
A page where you can find the recipe for the official club cookie!
Enhanced accessibility features (please check out the accessibility widget in the bottom-left corner of the site)
Dedicated page for our outreach and Ursa Minors programs, including a special contact form for organizations interested in scheduling outreach events.
Of course, the website will still be a great resource for checking out the dates for our star parties and lectures (under the “Events” page), and for downloading issues of the SkyWAAtch newsletter. In addition, the platform hosting the new site offers many additional features that we are only beginning to explore, including the potential for enhanced email communications.
WAA would like to acknowledge the contributions of a few key individuals, without whom we would have not been able to achieve this milestone:
Eli Goldfine: Lead Designer and Developer
Larry Faltz: Design consulting
Mike Lomsky: Design and Development
Scott Mellis: Accessibility and design consulting
Jordan Webber: Design and Development
We would also like to extend our thanks to all the WAA members who tried out the website while it was in test phase and provided valuable feedback to help us make improvements before launch.
Please let us know what you think of the new site! We want to keep making it better for you and greatly appreciate your feedback! Please send your thoughts or suggestions to info@westchesterastronomers.org or hop onto the WAA Discord and post your ideas to the website-feedback channel. Thanks in advance for your help!
