Pace University will no longer require campus visitors to provide proof of vaccination or a recent negative test. However, we continue to recommend that visitors receive a primary COVID-19 vaccine series and remain up-to-date on boosters. Visitors and event attendees should stay home if they feel ill and are strongly encouraged to take an antigen test in advance of visiting campus or attending an event.

Group observing events (a.k.a. “Star Parties”) have resumed (see the Star Parties page). WAA will follow New York State and Westchester County requirements for outdoor events, including all recommendations for screening, vaccinations, masking and social distancing that are in effect at the time of the star party.

WAA members (only) may observe at the Meadow Picnic Area at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation with proper identification. You must notify the park in advance. Call the number on the back of your ID card, which was sent with your membership or renewal, and bring the card. Remember that masks and social distancing are required on the observing field. It is preferable that each instrument to be used by a single individual to prevent any possible contamination. At star parties 91% alcohol can safely be used to disinfect eyepieces and focusers after each user.
